OWNER/DIRECTOR OF DANCE
Intro To Dance
Shelley Herbert, master dancer and educator, is driven by the desire to bring a premier education in the performing arts to eastern Long Island. Unlike most other local studios, her studio’s focus is not to enter competitions, but to offer a fundamental education in the performing arts through stages of appreciation, technique and style. Her goal is to provide top-notch training and opportunities for inspirational growth and professional development both in and outside the studio.
B.S. Degree in Dance and Arts for Children, Certification in Elementary Education,
member of The American Dance Guild, performed with Long Island Ballet Company,
studied with Garth Fagan (choreographer and Tony award-winner for The Lion King, recipient of In-Service Arts for Children Inter-Discipliary Award.
Meagan Barbuscia has always had a passion for performing. At the age of 14 she began student teaching and choreographing. She was a huge part of her High School Music and Drama program, Vice President of their Theatre Repertory Company and voted Most Musical. Meagan decided to further her training at The American Musical Dramatic Academy in Manhattan, NY where she studied Integrated Musical Theatre. While at AMDA she was a member of their Dance Workshop specializing in Tap and Musical Theatre Dance. In 2014 Meagan received the Broadway World Long Island Regional Award for Best Choreographer for her work on "The Wedding Singer." Meagan’s choreography has been recognized at Regional Dance Competitions and featured in various venues ranging anywhere from TheHampton's to Queens College. Here at East End Studio’s Meagan is the Dance Company Director and teaches for our Voice program. She is thrilled to bring her Broadway style training and storytelling to all of her students.
Gina is so excited to be a part of the East End Dance family! She is a dancer who specializes in ballet, pointe, contemporary, modern, lyrical and jazz. She is also an actress and director who has been performing for over 20 years. She is not only a performer but also has a passion for teaching and bringing her creative ideas to life with her students. Gina received formal training from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has appeared on stage, film and television. She has also directed numerous short films and plays throughout New York state. She has worked under the direction of many prestigious directors such as Jodie Foster and Andrew McCarthy. Gina has such a love and passion for the performing arts and is so happy that she can share her love with her students.
"Brian Viccaro began his training on Long Island and travelled to Massachusetts to obtain his degree in Dance from Dean College. During his time in Massachusetts Brian studied Ballet, Modern (Horton, Graham, Limon), Hip Hop (Breaking, Popping, House, Locking, Party, Vogue), Tap, Contemporary Dance and Jazz. Brian danced with a company in Boston from 2011-2012 called Unyted Stylz and has also interned for multiple choreographers at Lincoln Center in New York. Currently, Brian is the Vice President of Excelsior Theatre which is a touring theatre company on Long Island. Brian is excited to be a part of East End Studios family teaching, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap and choreographing for Company."
Nicole Cortes is a self-taught musician and has been working with East End Studios for 4 years. She is the head of the vocal and instrumental music program, offering lessons in singing, piano and brass instruments including trumpet and french horn. She has also worked as musical director and accompanist for some of the East End Studios' various productions including the summer musical boot camp shows. Her extensive experience working with all ages and experience levels has allowed her to develop her teaching style into a personalized and effective method of helping kids achieve their personal goals through privates and group classes. As a former student of the studio, she works to maintain the education and encouragement-focused environment the studio has been upholding since it first opened.
