About

Studio Philosophy

At East End Studios, we teach our students HOW TO dance, act or sing…not just A dance, scene or song. We respect and value careful training to build the necessary skills to go on to a professional level of dance, acting or singing. The training at East End Studios builds self-confidence, instills the life skill of teamwork and encourages innovative thinking. If a student wishes to master all three disciplines, commonly referred to as “the triple threat,” East End Studios will leverage their staff and resources to hone a student’s skills for a highly competitive advantage in the performing arts.

Our Mission

East End Studios’ mission is to increase appreciation of the performing arts and to increase awareness through community service and education. With the creation of our pre-professional Dance Company and it’s eclectic curriculum, our artistic staff helps to build self-confidence and an understanding of teamwork while preparing students to take their dance training to a professional level if they wish. The artistic staff has established the following goals for the company: participate in community and charity events, to bring dance education to the community and to provide one seasonal dance concert.  In addition, one dance competition will be offered to enhance performance skills.

Why choose us?

East End Studios is unique because we care about giving students a complete dance education and employ a professionally trained staff of teachers. We believe dance is a performing art, not a competition sport. Students are given many opportunities to perform throughout the year, culminating with a stage performance—an exciting and educational experience for all performing artists! Although this event is the highlight of the year for our students, we do not spend the entire year teaching them just one dance for this performance. Students may also audition for our Dance Company to take their training even further. Dance improvisation and choreography is incorporated into our all students’ dance training. We see students flourish in our studio, absorbing information about all realms of dance…not only about the styles, but also knowledge about the professional dancers and choreographers that have made dance great.

Casting Calls

East End Studios offers our students the chance to participate in high-profile projects that will look great on their resumés and give them valuable real-world experience. We continually update opportunities that are available locally or in the Tri-State area for our students to take advantage of. If you are interested in any of the projects listed, please send us a headshot and biography. We will happily submit the paperwork, and if you are selected, we will put you in direct contact with the production and you take it from there!

Educational Field Trips

A part of our wide range of class trips, the Broadway Talk Back gives students the unique opportunity in an all-inclusive price covering some of the following:

  • Travel to NYC
  • Take a master class
  • Watch an award-winning Broadway show
  • Speak with the performers after the show (sometimes they’re still in costume!)

We encourage students to take advantage of this intimate and informative experience, as the events are an inspiring and memorable part of their development.

Dance Company Scholarships/Work-Study

East End Studios is proud to support our local talent in any way we can.

Scholarships

Dance Company Scholarships are awarded annually. Students are required to write a short essay (2 or more paragraphs long) about why they want to be in the East End Studios Dance Company. One or two students will be awarded this annual scholarship.

Work-Study

By having a work-study option available for students in need of financial help to fund their performing arts training, we are happy to set up this mutually-beneficial arrangement of working at our studio to earn class time. Contact us to see if this is an option that’s right for you.

Community Service

Community service is an important part of a student’s education and is a requirement for our local high school graduates. East End Studios participates in many different community services.

Film Shorts & Professional Demos

A wonderful opportunity for your talents to be seen, heard and remembered! Book a private recording session at our studio. This makes a wonderful sentimental gift for family or just to have for you. We can create music videos or film a live recording of you singing. If you are a budding singing talent, send your resumé out with a demo that will make you stand out!

East End Studios’ close partnership with Event Source, a production company owned by Jim Vignato, gives our students a competitive advantage by producing professional film shorts and demos to showcase their talents. Expert filming, quality audio, dramatic lighting and editing make for an expressive and impressive production. Jim’s extensive experience and creative input ensures a stunning and exciting final product! Visit our Vimeo page to see some samples.
